Dogra Higher Secondary School Jammu Observes Independence Day with Patriotic Zeal and Dignity


Event Description

The proceedings formally commenced with an introductory presentation by the anchors, highlighting the historical significance of Independence Day and underscoring the responsibilities that accompany the privileges of freedom. The presentation emphasised the values of constitutional responsibility, integrity, discipline and dedicated service to the nation.



The cultural programme featured a patriotic medley presented by the students of Classes IV, V and VI. The students of the Kindergarten Wing presented patriotic rhymes, adding grace and innocence to the celebrations while reflecting their respect and affection for the motherland.



The school premises was appropriately decorated in the national colours, lending a dignified and celebratory ambience to the occasion.



A significant highlight of the programme was a captivating fusion of Classical Dance and Punjabi Bhangra, presented by the students of Classes III, IV and IX. The performance represented the harmonious confluence of India’s diverse cultural traditions and conveyed the enduring message of unity in diversity.



Addressing the gathering, Vice Principal Ms. Shivali Singh Pathania spoke on the significance of Independence Day and urged the students to imbibe the values of patriotism, discipline, integrity and responsible citizenship. Emphasising the guiding principle “Nation Always First,” she encouraged the students to remain rooted in their heritage and cultural values while striving for excellence and contributing constructively to the progress of the nation.



The Chief Guest, Mr. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Managing Director, addressed the gathering and conveyed an inspiring message to the students. He emphasised the importance of responsible citizenship, respect for India’s rich cultural heritage and traditions, and sincere contribution towards the nation’s progress, prosperity and development.



The proceedings of the program were conducted by Ridham and Sanket.



The celebration concluded with the National Anthem, reaffirming the collective commitment of the school community to the ideals of national unity, integrity, discipline and service to the nation.
