Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, celebrated the auspicious festival of Janmashtami, commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna, with immense devotion, enthusiasm and cultural fervour.

Students presented an engaging portrayal of Lord Krishna’s life and teachings, providing the audience with an opportunity to appreciate the deeper significance of Janmashtami and the timeless values associated with Indian culture and traditions.



A solemn tribute was also paid to the revered Chairman, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, whose visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to education were fondly remembered. His enduring contribution continues to inspire the school community.



Addressing the gathering, the Managing Director Mr. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak extended his warm greetings to the students and staff on the auspicious occasion. He emphasised the enduring relevance of Lord Krishna’s teachings and urged students to uphold the values of truth, righteousness, compassion, discipline and perseverance in their lives. He encouraged them to draw inspiration from Lord Krishna’s ideals and strive for excellence while remaining firmly rooted in their cultural and moral values.



Vice Principal Mrs. Shivali Singh Pathania also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of celebrating festivals as an integral part of holistic education. She emphasised that such occasions provide students with valuable opportunities to connect with their cultural heritage while developing qualities of discipline, cooperation, empathy and respect for traditions.



The school management appreciated the dedicated efforts of the teaching staff and students for their wholehearted participation and contribution towards making the celebration meaningful, vibrant and memorable.



The programme concluded with the distribution of Prashad among the students, spreading the spirit of devotion, joy and togetherness.
